Working to a very tight budget, IDK maximised the space occupied by a former Indian restaurant in Newington Green, creating a vibrant, laid back setting, with an open kitchen, bar and seating area. The project was an exercise in stripping back to the shell and only adding interventions that would directly benefit the experience of the diner. Working carefully with the budget, most finishes were either as found them or extremely basic - allowing greater focus on investing in a unifying bespoke joinery package - the focal point being a 9m long banqueting table constructed on from Siberian Larch that gave the restaurant its name.
